Join the podcast
Are you passionate about adventure games? Ever want to talk about these adventure games you’ve played? And would you like to host a discussion on adventure games? Well now is your chance! As the Adventure Game Podcast grows and continues to expand we want to review as many adventure games as we possibly can. Therefore we are looking for people to join us and help the Adventure Games Podcast reach its full potential. Please find our FAQ below.
What roles are available to join the team?
The main roles are adventure game post host and producer, and adventure game reviewer.
What do these roles involve?
Podcast Host: Host discussion and reviews of adventure games. Ensure everyone has their say and that contributors stay on topic. Ask questions about adventure games reviewed that have not been discussed, etc. Help and assistance will be given where required.
Game Reviewer: These can be a written review, audio recorded review, video review or review on the podcast when the teams records. There is no expectation to do all of these as you can choose which you would like to do.
Producer: If you have either audio or video editing experience and would like to help out.
Interviewer: Speak with and interview adventure game developers, actors, music composers and anyone else involved in the adventure game industry.
Will I need any experience in order to join the podcast?
Some experience would be great but it is not necessary.
What criteria are you looking for in order to join the podcast?
The criteria we would need are:
Be a fan of adventure games
Be able to speak, understand and/or write in English
Be honest but respectful when reviewing adventure games. Be able to give good constructive feedback when necessary.
Will other roles become available?
Possibly depending on interest and need. If you are interested then please let us know in the contact form below or by emailing us at info@adventuregamespodcast.com
Will we get paid for any of the roles?
We would love to pay people who join the podcast but unfortunately these roles are entirely voluntary. This is the case for the podcast creator Seoirse and everyone else who is on the team.
What benefits will I get if I join the team?
While we are unable to pay you, you will get the benefits below:
Host discussion and reviews of adventure games if you wish.
Play and review adventure games for free and sometimes before they are released to the public.
Be a part of a growing team and play direct a part in helping the adventure game community grow
Represent the Adventure Games Podcast at games conferences.
Interview and speak to some of your favourite adventure game developers if you wish.
Get the chance to promote your Twitch, website, youtube channel etc.
Are there any deadlines to completing the adventure games?
Since this is voluntary there are no deadlines as sometimes life can get in the way and we want you to enjoy the game without rushing thrugh it.
Will we need to finish the games before reviewing?
Usually yes since our opinions of a narrative game can always change based on the ending. However sometimes we may do a first impressions review and mention that the game has not yet been finished.
How often are the recordings for the Review Episodes?
Usually once a month. This however is subject to change based on availability of people able to record the podcast.
Will I need to appear on the podcast every time you record?
No this is also completely voluntary and depends on availability of people so there is no need to appear on the podcast in order to join the team.
How else can I be a part of the team if I don’t wish to record the Review Episode once a month?
You can do any of the following:
Record an audio of yourself reviewing the game and we can add it to the podcast in post-production
Send a written review of the game and we will add it to the website.
Send a video review and we will be happy to add it to our Youtube channel.
If you have any audio or video editing experience you can also edit an episode if you wish.
How many adventure games do we need to review in any of the ways above?
Since it is voluntary, as many adventure games as you wish and you have time for!
If I am an adventure game developer can I join the team?
Yes if you are an adventure game developer you can still join the team and review adventure games you have played. However you would need to be honest with your review and if we review your game we would also still need to give an honest review.
Are all the adventure games we are expected to cover modern or can we discuss retro adventure games?
Mostly we will be reviewing modern adventure games but every so often we do a special episode where we can discuss any retro adventure games if people wish to do that.
Can we review other kinds of games other than adventure games?
Mostly yes we will just cover adventure games. However sometimes if other games have a strong focus on narrative and there is interest (e.g. The Last of Us) we can occasionally cover those games while making it clear they are not typical adventures we cover.
If I have any questions that aren’t answered here is there anywhere I can contact you?
